Text Styles Formatting

Jon

I am setting up Project Server 2003 and one thing everyone wanted was
to have it show critical path tasks in red.

I went into the Global file, FORMAT/TEXT STYLES/ITEM TO
CHANGE/CRITICAL PATH = RED. I saved the file and upon reopening it
still showed red for critical path. I thought it was going to work.

I have since loaded a project into the server and although the Global
shows red fonts for critical path, the project still shows black. I
manually change to red, save and when I re-open the file they have
reverted back to black.

Can this be done? Is there a different way to accomplish this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jon

By default, the Critical Path consists of every task whose Total Slack is 0
days. Any task that is critical will be formatted in red. There is
absolutely nothing you need to do to set this up within Project Server. If
people aren't seeing tasks formatted in red, then the tasks are NOT
critical, according to Microsoft Project's default definition. To confirm
whether a task is truly a Critical task, open the project in question then
click View - Table - Schedule. Examine the Total Slack field at the far
right side of the table. Only those tasks whose Total Slack is 0 days will
be formatted in red. If no tasks are formatted in red, then you should see
a Total Slack for each task greater than 0 days. Let me know if this helps.
