How can I put text or a number, into a circle or box created from the
Drawing toolbar?

Since you don't mention which program you're using, I can only give a
general suggestion:

Click the circle/box to select it.
Type the number.

You might then want to format the text so it's vertically MIDDLE
attached and paragraph centered.
