Text to lowercase

Hi,

If you highlight some text in a Word document, and choose "Format" from the
Edity menu, you can change the text to uppercase, but not all lowercase. Is
it possible to force all selected text to lowercase? I'm using Office 2000.

Hi Alain,

If you select Change Case from the Format menu, there is a lower case button
that you can check. Doing so will change the selected text to lower case.

Shift + F3 is the short cut / function key alternative to Format / Change
Case and goes through a cycle of the different cases

Hi Julie,

Shift+F3 only gives you UPPER CASE, lower case and Title Case. It does not
give you Sentence case.

Hi Doug

not wishing to argue with a MVP - however, if you select a whole paragraph
(or sentance - as long as you include the last period/fullstop) Shift + F3
gives you UPPER, lower and Sentance case as opposed to UPPER, lower and
Title Case.

Hi Julie,

Learn something everyday. Only thing is, then you cannot get Title Case
using Shift+F3.

you can if you don't select the period/fullstop

i use this feature extensively so i'm pretty good at selecting the bits i
need to get the outcome i need and rarely do i need title case for more
than a couple of words.

BTW i think in 2000 you could get all 4 no matter what you selected ... but
i can't double check that at the moment.

Well isn't that interesting!

I never realized that was the key. Of course it makes perfect sense
now. Thanks for sharing.

Also, the behavior is the same in all versions of Word that support
the keyboard command.
