text wrapping in text box

In Word 04 I'm trying to wrap text around a graphic inside a text box.
When I click on the graphic and open the formatting palette, the style
"Inline with Text" is the only option. The rest are greyed out. What
the hey?

You can't have a floating (anything other than In Line) graphic object in a
Text Box [another graphic object].

You can convert the Text Box to a Frame, but better to not have the graphic
inside a Text Box or a Frame in the first place unless absolutely necessary.
