the application microsoft (word, excel andpowerpoint) quit unexpectedly

installed microsoft office 2008 in october 2008, and had no trouble.

as of may/june 2009, i no longer wanted these icons (icons for word, excel and powerpoint) on my dock, and so removed.

now when i try to open these applications, the message;

the application microsoft word quit enexpectedly. mac os x and other applications are not affected. click relaunch to launch the application again. click report to see more details or send a report to apple.

the report then says:

When did you last apply any updates to Office? What is the last update you
applied? If you don't know & can't launch any of the programs go to:

Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office

Click once on the file called: MicrosoftComponentPlugin.framework, then key
Command+I. See what Version is specified in the General section of the Get
Info window. If it's lower than 12.2.1 you're in need of updating Office.

Make sure your software is up-to-date. If all else fails, you could uninstall Office and reinstall it using the CD. If you do decide to do that, make sure that you have your CD and product key before uninstalling and reinstalling.
