The CD ROM Drive isn't being recognized by Windows Professional?

I am unable to get my cdrom to be recognized by office. I am unable to write
my documents to disk which is becomeing a problem. I received an error
message that told me I needed to turn the DMA on. If there is a way to turn
this on please help me.

Watch your screen during startup and there should be a message
telling you which key to press to enter the BIOS setup program
