The crossways lines on tables no longer adjust

I am accustomed to being able to adjust the horizontal lines in tables - you
hover the mouse pointer over the line, and when it changes to a couple of
short horizontal lines, you click and hold down, and drag it where you want.
But now that's stopped working. I hover the mouse over the line, and it just
stays in the shape of a pointer.

Could this have anything to do with the fact that I just went to Format ->
Borders and Shading -> and said 'None' to get rid of some pesky double lines
reaching across the page?

Thanks in advance

No. It does depend on view, however; this option is not available in Normal
view. BTW, you may have thought you posted this in word.tables, but you
didn't.

You are probably in Normal View. Switch to Print Layout View and you should
be able to use that method to adjust the row height.
