The dreaded Pocket PC

I have seen several posts about trying to use Access with a Pocket PC, but
they all refer to importing the tables to the Pocket PC. I don't want to
import the database to the Pocket PC - I want to leave the back-end tables on
the host computer and use the Pocket PC to access those tables. I currently
have a very extensive split database using MS Access 2003 with approximately
6 concurrent users. I have two Symbol MC50 Pocket PCs with 802.11b wireless
connectivity. I want to put a form on the Pocket PC and use the bar code to
pull up a record - then press a button to make a change to that record in the
table which is actually stored on a desktop PC.

Is it possible?

Yes, it is very possible, but you will not be using Access on the Pocket PC.
You could use a mobile ASP.NET app. Lot's of good stuff on this at MSDN, try
some of the links at the following URL ...

Thank you for your leading me in the right direction....I've done a lot more
research since then and thought I would pass on what I have learned.

1)The majority of the "Pocket Access" programs are capable of working with
tables and performing uncomplicated filters - as long as the tables are
converted to the Pocket PC. This is the solution for those with small
databases like cataloging your CD collection.

2)There is one program that can work with tables on a server - 'SmartList To
Go' by Dataviz. The catch is that it only works with PalmOS. This is a more
powerful solution as long as you have a PocketPC listed here.

3)Using mobile ASP.NET or similar technologies requires extensive Visual
Basic or C# knowledge and the use of a program like Visual Studio. This is
the most powerful solution for almost any application of MS Access but is not
really a consumer solution.
