Hi, Michael. If you are running Norton Antivirus, try disabling the Office Plugin that comes with it by clicking on Start | Programs | Norton | Options | Miscellaneous | uncheck the "Enable Office Plugin" box.

If you had an older version of Norton installed on your computer, the Office Plugin could still be registered even if you uninstalled the older version of Norton. Search for a file named OFFICEAV.DLL on your computer (include system and hidden files/folders) and note the directory path where it is located. Close all open applications. From Windows, click on Start | Run. In the Open dialog box, type the command (including quotes):

regsvr32 -U "c:\<path>\officeAV.dll"

but replace <path> with the directory path for your officeAV.dll file. Click on OK. You should get the message: "DllUnregisterServer in C:\<path>\OfficeAV.dll succeeded." You only need to run this command once.
