The file <filename> is not available

I use Word 2000 on a stand alone PC and recently when i
have been trying to open files i have been getting the
message 'The file <filename> is not available.
I can open the files that i need in Wordpad with no
problems, so i just cant figure it out!?!?
The problem also occurs when i try to open Excel
documents.

Hi Tom,

I Norton go to Options and in the Miscellaneous section turn off
"Enable Office Plug-in".
