"the file is in use by another user"

When i close a file .doc it gives me te message that "the file is in use by
another aplication or user. (C:\documents and settings\...\Normal.Dot)".
In fact no one is using it. How can i solve this?

This usually indicates that the temp files have not been deleted when the
application has been closed.
Have you recently had a crash? What version of Word and OS are you working on?

First check would be to go to your temp folder and make sure that when all
applications are closed it is empty. It is usually in Documents and Settings,
Username, Local, temp and should be empty.

You may need to check "show hidden files and folders" (under Folder Options,
View) to see these folders and files.

Is it just the one document or all Word files?
