The menu and tool bars have disappeared from Word 2000

The help me is useful only if you have the menues to begin
with. We now have only the ruler above the document, with
out the menu or tool bars above.

Have we just done something silly.

- Have replaced (imported by mail) a new nornal.dot file
hoping that was the problem

- Have run repair from the office 2000 pro CD and

- Have reloaded the enitre program.

No joy. Should I just shoot the darn thing?

And FWIW you should always be able to access the Help with F1 (not that it
would help with this issue).
