The network request is not supported error

I recently had the javascript error "The network request is not
supported error" on one of my users browsers when he tried to access
the Grid Controls on PWA. Upgrading to MDAC 2.8 on the client's
machine seemed to solve the issue. See

Be wary of simply upgrading MDAC to 2.8 if you are using a previous
version of it. I believe that it may not be fully
backwards-compatible, so you should investigate other dependencies on
the machine before upgrading.
