The Normal Style format in Word

I read the replies to Adriana's question and it was helpful, but I have a slightly different problem that resulted from my trying to setup a style to use throughout a large document. I went through the actions to modify a style, but in the process changed the default settings for the "Normal" style that was ther originally. Now each new document comes up with a text box. I went back to modify and reset everything to zero or unmarked, and returned the name to Normal, but I still get the text box. I tried to highlight the style name and delete, but it will not delete. Can anyone help? AJWA
