A form that I have been working on for several days now is suddenly corrupted (?) and showing this message. I've read other forum threads on this but none are very helpful/straightforward. I'm not feeling very optimistic about recovering the form I've spent hours on.

What is happening? How can it be prevented? How do I get my form back?
