The owner/project manager/publisher

Hi,All, We are using Project 2002. I am the administrator
for the Corporation. When I uploaded projects, I changed
the owner to individual project managers. However, in the
later communications, I was defaulted to be all project
managers. How can I deliver all the rights to the
managers? Or each project must be published by its
project manager with his/her own account? Thanks in
advance. Scott

It sounds like your company methodology is to have someone other than the
project manager to create and publish each project plan. I have consulted
in environments such as this, where a member of the PMO, or a scheduler, or
a project assistant is responsible for doing this. I presume that is your
situation.

If so, there are two actions that will need to be done each time you create,
save, and publish a project for one of your project managers. The first set
of steps should be performed by you:

1. Create the project, save it in the Project Server database, and publish
the project
2. Go to the Project Center in PWA, select the project, and click the Edit
Project Details button
3. Change the Owner field to the project manager and then click the Save
and Close button

The second set of steps MUST be performed by the project manager of the
project:

1. Open the newly-published project
2. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
3. In the Republish Assignments dialog box, select the "Become the manager
for these assignments" option
4. Click the OK button

The second set of steps will redirect the task updates to the project
manager. Again, let me repeat that the second set of steps must be
performed by the project manager, and not by you. Hope this helps.
