I am getting the following error:

The parameter is incorrect
HRESULT: 0x80070057
Process: groove.exe (ID: 2632 (0x00000a48))
Thread ID: 3204 (0x00000c84)

I'm running Windows Server 2003 and already defraged and checked my disk for
errors and everything was clean.

The solution I used a couple of weeks ago when this happened was remove
groove, delete all files in the Documents and Settings user folder and
reinstall it, but it is not a possible solution for a weekly basis.

How can solve this?

what version of Groove are you running? Groove 2007 is 'sanctioned' OK for
W2K3 servers but v3.x is not. Gv3.x runs on W2k3 but needs some adjustments.

Did you reboot your machine after installation?

Tell us more about your setup (hardware, software, etc).

My computer is running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise and has installed:
- Microsoft Office 2007 Small Business Edition
- Office Groove 2007
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
- SQL Server 2005 Express
- Primavera (local ERP software)

When I first installed groove restarted and everything was working fine.
Downloaded all the workspaces from other people and everything was working
perfectly.

A week later this error showed up.
I tried reparing the software and didn't work.
Then tried uninstalling and installing again. DIdn't work.
Finally, through Google groups I saw a similar situation that was able to
tackle this by:
- Uninstall Groove
- Delete de groove12.pip file from the C:\Documents and
Settings\nuno.nunes\Application Data\Microsoft\Office folder, where
"nuno.nunes" is my user account
- Delete the folders under C:\Documents and Settings\nuno.nunes\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Groove folder
- Install Groove again.

That also worked perfectly for 2 more weeks.
Yesterday had to restart my server and the error shows up again. It doesn't
seem eficient to be uninstalling and installing groove all the time so I
decided to post a question to see if we could get to the bottom of this...

I hope the details are enough. Thanks in advance for your help and
availability!

Regards

thanks for the info - I see you are with G2k7 client which should work well
with your W2k3 server.

Some installations get 'messed' up for a variety of reasons.
I see that you have backed up your account, which is good!
What I would recommend (& you may not like) is another uninstall/reinstall
but save your account file to another place as you'll need after a new
installation.
After your uninstallation - clean up all prior resisdual files by deleting
all folders and files (under program files & documents and settings folders)
After the above - run clean up utilities like 'ccleaner' & 'regseeker'
(these are freely available on the internet). These clean up registry
settings and remove temp files, etc.

Next step - do a fresh installation and use the account file you saved from
the first step above.

Send me an email (below) if you have any questions.

It will run on W2K3 but make sure that you are using within the design scope
and size restriction. It is possible that there is also a bad space. Is
anyone else having issues?

I would suggest that once you recreate the account add the account to
another machine. You can have one account synched across multiple machines.
That way if it fails you do not have to create a new account. Also you can
test to see if the behavior moves across the devices. Does the error occur
peforming the same task each time?
