When I try to poen a project on Microsoft Project Professional 2007, getting an error "the project you selected belongs to a different project server. To open this project, close and then restart Project using the account for this project's server"

Restarting does not work - getting the same error. All other projects with the same account are working fine. Is anybody aware of this error message? Kindly help.

If you have two server accounts, and you are trying to open a project from the instance other than which you logged into, you get this error.

Check the PWA instances you have and see if the project you are trying to open exists on a different instance. If yes, you will need to login in to project professional using that Project Server account. If you are automatically getting logged into the default account, After logging in go to Tools>Enterprise Options>Project Server accounts and select "manually control connection site". This will allow you to select the account you want to log into every time you log in.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hi Prasanna, Only one account is present on that machine and there is only one instance of PWA present. We managed by creating a new project. Thanks for a prompt reply.
