I got the following error when I tried to insert an object into a
power point presentation from an existing file. The object was a .bmp
and from other correspondences I have read they say it has something
to do with Norton. I am not using Norton. I am using Office 2000 and
Windows 98se. Any suggestions. My students are driving me
nuts!!!!!!!!

Is there some reason why you're trying to insert the BMP as an object
instead of as a picture?

Try Insert, Picture, From File and choose your BMP
