"the system cannot find the file specified"

I have a user who gets the error message "the system
cannot find the file specified" whenever he tries to
double click on a word or excel attachement to open it in
Outlook.

If you detach the attachment and then open it it opens
fine.

I have scoured a few newsgroups and done a search on
Technet but cant find anything except turning off
the "ignore other applications" option in Excel, however
this doesn't fix the problem.

Anyone seen this before?
