When I try and open email every few mails has a message come up "The UID of a
message changed unexpectedly"

Well, what TYPE of e-mail account are you using? IMAP which
synchronizes your e-mail client to the mail server? If so, it is the
mail server changing the unique ID of an e-mail, so you'll have to ask
your e-mail provider why they do that.
