there is not enough memory or disk space to run word

Hello

I'm running win ME and I get this error message when opening word: "there is not enough memory or disk space to run word." When this message is closed this message appears: "winword has caused an error in USER.EXE winword will now close.

Some new programs have been installed recently, but otherwise there seems to be no reason for this to have started happening. I have 356mb ram and resources are at 68% when I checked them. When checking virtual memory(its set for windows to control the settings) it shows this figure when the settings are changed to manual mode (C:\ -6797mb free)

Does anybody know of a bulletin they can point me to or does anyone have a fix for this. I have looked and have not been able to find this same problem described elsewhere

Thanks for any help you can offer

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

There are several reasons for receiving errors starting Word. This
article contains the common troubleshooting steps:
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm

Start with the section on creating a new Normal.dot since more than
likely that is what you are encountering.
