Hello,
As you can guess I am receiving this message every time I try to open
a word 2007 doccument in the beta version.
I was just wondering if anyone knew why this was being displayed and
how i can get around it because I need a file to be opened before

If you're using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the Office
Plugin that comes with it (but don't disable Norton AutoProtect). See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How to use Office programs
with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for more information.

I've been getting this message with my Word 2002. I can open the file in
wordpad or export to another machine and open, but I cannot open on this
computer. I don't have Norton on this computer anymore - though it was when
the problem first started. I do have AVG running now. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

If Norton AV was installed at one time then the DLL for the Office
Plug-in could still be registered.

Search for : officeav.dll

If you find it then go to Start/Run and run the following command:

regsvr32 /u "<path>\officeav.dll"

Here is a KB article that provides a few additional details. It does
not include information on Norton CE but it will contain additional
details on the unregister command if you need them:
