Thismodification i s not allowed because the selection is locked

I am unable to write or click on word document. Each time I press a button
it says"This modification is not allowed because the selection is locked".
Please help

If your version of Word is a trial version then it has expired. If you have
actually purchased a retail version of Office/Word, then you have not
activated it.
