three sound files in powerpoint 2003

i'm trying to play three different sound files at different points in my
presentation. the first sound file ended when it was supposed to...but then
the second sound file doesnt end until the file is over. i set it to end by a
certain slide...but it wont end...so i have the second sound file still
playing while the third file starts already.

i need help!

It's hard to help you when we don't know how you set up your sound files in
the first place. You didn't give us any details to go on, you see.

Regardless, Play sounds across multiple slides (A WAV runs through it)

Well, we know you have PPT 2003, so that's a start.

For each sound file, we'd need to know what kind of file it is (WAV, MP3, CD
track/CDA, etc.), how you inserted it, what slide it's inserted on, what
animation (play) settings you've used with it (both the with/after previous
or on click and the stuff that's under the Effect Options and Timings and
Sound Options tabs), where it's supposed to stop, and what it's actually
doing. The animation settings for each of the sounds is important here.

You might want to have a quick read through that link below, strip out the
three sounds and then reinsert them and reset the animation play settings.
That may resolve all the issues. (And go figure, but I've seen it happen
before, I promise. Sound in PPT can be really wonky, if you ask me.)
