Thumbnails and preview problems for image files

Hi:

If I opened a local or remote site and tried to insert an image to a page,
the thumbnails and preview functions of the insert file are grayed out, and
I could not preview the image file.

If, however, I just opened a blank page without opening a site (local or
remote), I can have thumbnails and preview function which allow me to see
the image files before inserting into the page.

Can anyone please tell me is this normal, or I have wrong settings?

Try importing the images into the current open FP web / site prior to using that feature.
