thumbnails

I'm new to frontpage and am having problems with
thumbnails. I place the pictures, click on autothumbnail,
and save. A prompt comes up asking if I want to embed the
pictures and lacking any other options, I click yes. When
I upload the site or go to web preview the thumbnails
don't work. What am I doing wrong?
