Tiger Update 10.4.3 - Affects Word and Excel - How?

The update information says 10.4.3 "Improves compatibility with Microsoft
Word and Excel 2004, addressing an issue in which the application could stop
responding for several seconds."

Can anyone explain exactly what this update addresses? I've never
experienced the "stop responding" issue.

You've never seen the "spinning beachball" ?? You're so lucky ;-)
From time to time, the application would completely stop responding and
the cursor would transform into a spinning beachball. From what Apple
describes, this should now be a lot less frequent in Word and Excel 2004
:))
