Time Calculations

I am trying to create a spreadsheet that will allow me to enter both start & finish times (either 12hr or 24hr clock format) and then calculate the total hrs worked. Usually, the start time is AM & the finish time is PM or sometimes AM of the next day. Or the start time may be PM & the finish time may be AM the next day. Once I have the hrs worked calculated, I need to multiply this figure by the hrly rate to produce a Pay Amount. I looked at the response to the other similar question but it did not help. Thanks for any insight on this one....

You'll have to give more information about what you tried, what about it
"did not work", and what you expect. Also, some specific examples of what is
not working will help. Excel dates and times are simply numeric values. So
once the start and ending times are entered (you should use a full date and
time, like: "6 May 2009 10:00 AM" or something similar. Then just subtract
the values and format the result as time. You will probably also need to
multiply the result by 24.

If this does not help, respond with the information I asked for above and
I'll try to help further.
