First let me say that I am not a programmer or a scripter and I want to
accomplish something I felt should have been very simple, but has turned out
to be a nightmare for me. Maybe I am over-emphasizing but here goes.......
The sample time card has almost all of the features I need to create one of
my own. Some quirky thinkgs I have already noticed and some things I need to
do are:
1. cannot modify the sample date source - resolved that by reading another
post
2. make this bi-weekly
3. modify the script.js to calculate correctly after resolving number 1
Reading another post I extracted the form files and created a new form based
on this. Converted the main data source to point to the XML file. I can now
edit the data source fields, hooray. After changing the bindings to some
fields and testing, I noticed that the totals were not adding up. Soooo, I
went to the script editor and noticed that there was nothing in there. I
checked the sample and lots of stuff in there. I copied and pasted from one
to the other and now am getting errors when previewing the form. I imagine
this is based on namespace, but not entirely. Nothing is ever that simple
for me. This doesn't even get me to item 2 yet.
I created a time card in Excel and it works perfectly for my needs although
some extremely long and complicated formulas were used, most of which were
pirated from the Internet. InfoPath seems like a better tool but if I am to
jump through such drastic hoops, I may scrap the whole project. I am a sole
IT staff and cannot spend that kind of energy.
I appreciate in advance any and all hints, tips, advice, help, suggestions,
and any other word for what I need. Thank you, thank you, thank you, in
