Time Phasing in Project

In Project Professional we have a number of tasks that have a duration of
months but in reality the resource only spends a few hours a day on. When we
look in resource useage the system has allocated all the time to the first
few months leaving no allocation at the back of the task. When we run
reports on slipped tasks etc it looks like the task is slipping. Can we set
something on the project or system so that it equally spread the task over
the whole duration?

Jayne:

You can model this in Project by setting the task type to fixed duration,
set the duration, and then either add the resource at the percentage of
effort you expect the task to take or set the work value for the task and
Project will calculate the percentage of units.
