To start my explanation on what we are doing, we are running Project Server, MS Project Professional from the administrative machine, and the programmers in the office are connecting to Project Server via MS Project Web Access. On the administrative machine with MS Project Professional, there are 4 Project files, I will call them TASKS A, Other TASKS, 2003 Completed Tasks, and 2004 Completed Tasks. The TASKS A file is what we primarily use for our project, Other TASKS is for miscellaneus tasks, 2003 Completed Tasks are tasks that began in 2003 and 2004 Completed Tasks are what were started in 2004. After the programmers in the office complete their tasks, they submit them to be accepted by the administrator. The administrator either accepts or rejects them. After a parent task and subtasks are completed in file TASKS A, they are moved to either 2003 Completed Tasks or 2004 Completed Tasks. The problem is when we cut these tasks from file TASKS A and move them to the Completed Tasks files, the time posted to them are erased or removed. Even though these completed tasks are marked as done and tested, when they are cut and pasted into the "2003 or 2004 Completed Tasks" project files, it's like nothing was ever done to these tasks on Project Server. How do I move these tasks to the 2003 or 2004 Completed Tasks files without losing information on how much time was posted or if they were marked complete? It's like the information posted to these tasks are being erased. Can anybody help?
