Time sheet Question

Our users update time on a weekly basis, But they have to put the actuals on
each task on a day to day basis.
Most of them will click on the "update all" button once they update the
time.

This sends an Update information to the Project Manager for all the task
they where ever assigned, even the ones that were completed a year ago.

Is there some way of avoiding this other than using "Update selected row" in
the timesheet.

I would surmise that something is wrong within your system, as what you
describe is definitely not how Project Server works. When the user clicks
the Update All button, the system simply updates only those tasks for which
progress was entered this week. The updates then flow to the project
manager who processes the updates into the project plan. After doing so,
the project manager MUST click Collaborate - Publish - All Information to
"push" the latest schedule changes to every area of PWA. Are your PM's
doing this every time they process updates into their project plans? If
not, this might explain what is going on. Let us know.

Also, when team members enter actuals during the week but are not ready to
submit their updates to the project manager, the team members should click
the Save Changes button to save the changes to the Project Server database.
They should only click Update Selected Tasks or Update All when they are
ready to submit their updates to the PM. Hope this helps.

The project Manager may be using "Publish- New and Changed Information".
Could that be the reason.
The team members do the save changes and when they are ready to inform the
PM click update all.

The project managers now recieve updates for all the task that the team
members were assigned, even the ones that that had no time reported during
this week.
