Time stamps and contact notes

I utilize Outlook 2003 to maintain multiple databases for my clients and
prospects. I have Business Contact Manager, but I'm not thrilled about
having to migrate my prospects from my Outlook contacts. I have some friends
and family that I categorize as "clients", so taking those contacts out of
Outlook would disrupt my database.

Unless someone can help me out on this, I will continue with my method of
using the "notes" section of my contact to notate the date of my phone
conversations and the topic(s) discussed. This is kind of laborious, as I
have to type in the date for each element. I wish there was just a button I
could press and have it plug in the date and say "phone conversation" or
something to that effect.

I realize that the journal can do something like this, but I like to have
all of the info in front of me on the same page when I'm working. I would
also like the note section (or somewhere on in the general contact area) to
list each conact element (appointment, email, phone conversation, etc) that
relates to the contact. Once again, I know that the journal has a similar
function, but bouncing between tabs can be a pain when I'm on the phone all
day.

I'm just trying to limit my data entry. I though that BCM would have done
this, but I'm lost there. Thanks for any info you can provide!
