timeline with 4 month units

Marias

Hello,
I use MS Project 2003.
My project has three stages and three sets of tasks: for fall semester,
spring semester and summer semester, each semester is about four months.
Can I have the tasks printed with a timeline, which units are 4 months so
that there is September-December page (or half/third page) with corresponding
tasks, then January-April page etc.?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Marias,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The only time periods available are shown in the Timescale dialog and thirds
is not an option. I'm not sure, but maybe ther's a vba solution. you could
thus try posting on the developer newsgroup. Please see FAQ Item: 24.

In your project file right-mouse click on the Gantt chart timeline and
choose Timeline in the menu. In the formattinmg dialog box, tell it to use
three tiers. For the top tier, set the units to "Months" and the count
field to "4." Unfortunately AFAIK there's no way to get that to control
page breaks when you print but you could create a filter to display just the
tasks starting, say, between 01 Sep and 31 Dec or 31 Jan and then print the
filtered view.
