Is Visio the best software for creating timelines? Cwn a number of timelines be created and then moved into various ailgnments for coparison? Is there any other software that has timeline capabilities?

Yes, Visio supports multiple timelines on the same page. Timelines can be
repositioned as needed. Visio 2003 also supports timelines rotated at an
angle or vertical.

Mark:

Is it possible to create timelines in Visio 2000 that do
not have specific start and end dates, just periods of
time?

Example: Instead of starting on "Dec 15 2003" and
ending "Dec 15 2004", it would start on "Day 1" and end
on "Day 366". Milestones would be placed at "Day
25" "Day 56", etc.

Can Visio do this?

As far as I know, timelines must have discrete dates attached to them.
