Timeout when connecting through ODBC

When connecting through Business Objects XI designer, after a while I am
getting this error when trying to access tables and objects within the schema:

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Could not use '(unknown)'; file
already in use.

The file is not opened by any other application, because within the ODBC
configuration I have flagged 'exclusive'.

Any ideas?
