Timesheet and Duration Question

C

Chris

So I have been using project server to track times...via timesheet. Resource
fills out act work and remaining work. What I am discovering is that when
the task is 100% completed AND the actual duration is less than the task
duration, the resource units are getting lowered. I have all tasks at fixed
work. I would rather the duration be scaled and the units and work remained
fixed. As it stands now, my project is still showing the original completion
date, even though things are way ahead of schedule. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Chris

Chris:

If you're tracking actual work and work remaining at a weekly level, rather
than entering work by day, you must also add actual start and actual finish
to your published fields and your timesheet, as this tracking method can not
determine this from weekly or larger buckets. If you use resources report
their work by day, the system can determine which day the task started and
which day it ended.
