Timesheet Approval

I am currently using taks updates through the timesheet
portion of project. I want to use timesheet approval in
the future. Two quick and simple questions. Who
approves the timesheet? how is it routed? Second, can I
have one person approve tasks and another approve
timesheet?

thanks

To use the timesheet approval feature, you must also enable the Managed Time
Periods feature. In addition, you must build an RBS field structure that
mimics your organization's "org chart" and then populate an RBS value for
each resource to show the system "who reports to whom." Project Server
grants default timesheet approval permission to members of the Resource
Managers group and grants task updating permission to the manager of the
project that contains each task assignment. Hope this helps.

Quick answer is that the approver for a timesheet is the
person who published the Task {Tools | Publish | ...]

All employees above the user in the RBS can
Reject/Approve time for user, but this does not update
the schedule. It simply flags the assignment as approved.

This can be usefull if you have Resource Mgrs that must
approve time prior to Project Managers.

Only the user who published the assignment can approve
the time against that assignment and update the schedule.

I recommend you review the downloadable guides from the
Microsoft. They are quite helpfull in explaining this
area.
