We have implemented MSP 2003 using Timesheets in various departments
without using Timesheet Approvals.
I now have a new department that wants to start using the system,
however they want to use the timesheet approval feature.
I have set this up for only one department, however I see a problem
with this approach (perhaps reasons why we didn't implement approvals
in the first place).
Because Team Leads may also act as Project Managers for some smaller
projects, they need the ability to use resources outside of their
team, however in order for them to only approve timesheets for their
resources they actually need their permissions paired down so that
they can only see their own resources. MSP 2003 permission
architecture allows one or the other, I can't have my cake and eat
too.
Is my understanding correct? Any advice? How have others used this
feature?
