Timesheet Importing by managers

R

Richard Lowe

Is there a way in which the timesheet manager can import the timesheet of a resource to cut out the back and forward motion of submitting a timesheet then the manager approves the timesheet, then the resource imports the task then the manager opens the project to find the update. the resources are forgetting to import their timesheet which paints a wrong picture in the weekly progress meetings.

Any help would be appreciated

No, there is no way to allow a timesheet manager to import the timesheet
information to the My Tasks page for his/her resources. This is a process
issue that you must establish with your resources, and enforce as a training
and perform issue.

An alternate solution to the problem is to use the Project Server 2007
Timesheet Tied-Mode Service and Event Handler, available on the CodePlex
site at:

http://www.codeplex.com/AutoStatusService

Using this tool, if a resource enters time in the My Timesheet page, it is
automatically transferred to the My Tasks page, which does save a step.
However, the tool DOES NOT submit the My Tasks page information, so the
resource must still go to the My Tasks page, adjust Remaining Work, add
Notes, and submit the progress to his/her PM. Hope this helps.
