Timesheet question

Hi,

I've just installed MS Project Server 2007 for the first time and as you
might expect I'm finding some of the changes from 2003 a little bewildering.
I'm slowly working through them, but the thing that has got me at the moment
is timesheets and tasks.

First question: How do those filling in the timesheets indicate the
remaining work left on a task?

Second question: Can anyone point me at a resource where I can see what the
interactions are between Tasks and Timesheets? Getting a room full of
developers to fill in Timesheets was hard enough in 2003, and on the face of
it it appears to have just got more complicated...

Thank you very much for any help. As I learn more, I'll try and post some
replies myself.

Okay, for some reason I didn't see this article first time I searched, but
subsequently.... Anyway, most of my questions have been answered in this
thread:
Remaining Time not on PWA 2007 timesheet

I would still be interested in hearing from anyone who can point me at a
web-resource for understanding how Timesheets and Tasks work together.

Thanks,

Jonathan

In Project Server 2007, Timesheets are used for reporting ALL types of time
spent on work, both project related and non-project related work. Because
of this, there is no Remaining Work field. The My Tasks page is
specifically for reporting task progress, and because of this, team members
can access the Remaining Work field for each task. To simplify the entry of
actual work, users can enter their time in the My Timesheet page, submit it
to their RM for approval, and then import the time for task work into the My
Tasks page. Also, to assist you with the transitition to Project Server
2007, you might want to consider buying our Managing Enterprise Projects
book, available at:

Hope this helps.
