Timesheet

Hi...

I have a timesheet for employees working on various projects at the same
time. Is there a function within excel where it can search for an employee
name and calculate the total number of hours they have worked even if they
are listed 3 times at different points in the spreadsheet. They are likely to
move around the spreadsheet quite a lot therefore I can't just use a simple
SUM formula.

ANy help would be great cheers !!!

Thats great thanks...have a struck another problem if you are able to help?
As I mentioned, the same employee could be listed more than once for a
different project, how can I get Excel to pull out the same employee and
,record the number of hours spent on each project?

eg.
Dave A 2hrs
Tom B 3hrs
Sarah C 2hrs
Dave D 1hr
John E 2hrs
Dave F 3hrs

I want Excel to pull the info that Dave spent 2hrs on A. 1hr on D, And 3hrs
on F into a new sheet? I need to know the person, project and number of hours!

Any help would be great thanks...
