Timing of audio files and animated text.

I have prepared a PowerPoint presentation that includes an audio file (a
salesman's testimonial) attached to a text block as animation. On the same
page, I also have other text blocks that subsequently appear and highlight
comments being made in the audio file. The subsequent text blocks are timed
to appear XXX seconds after the earlier text block.

The presentation was originally prepared using Powerpoint 97 and the timing
of all animation worked fine. However, when the presentation was viewed
using PowerPoint 2000, the timing was no longer in sync. It was off by a few
seconds. I went ahead and reset the timing using PowerPoint 2000. I plan to
distribute the presentation on a CD saved in both formats, not knowing which
version the ultimate user will be using to view the presentation.

My question relates to subsequent releases of PowerPoint (i.e. 2002 and
2003). Will animation that is set using PowerPoint 2000 remain in sync when
viewed with PowerPoint 2002 or 2003?

Your advice and/or guideance is very much appreciated.
