Timsheet Work Description

All,
We are in the process of moving our company to PS2007.

Previously we had the capability for employees to enter a description of
their work for a given task.

For instance of John Doe held a progress meeting for the Fabrikam project.
He would enter time against the “Project Management†task and enter a
description of the meeting.

I have looked at Custom Fields but did not see an eloquent way for our
employees to enter Work Descriptions from the Timesheet

Any help or comments would be much appreciated.

You can add custom task fields to timesheets but they don't seem to hold
data very consistantly and especially for free from text fields they don't
hold the data once you save the timesheet.

However, if you add it to the My Tasks views (summary or detail) the data
will retain and will come over with the task updates into the project plan
as an assignment level value. This is similar to how it worked in 2003.
