Tip for Entourage/Yahoogroups Users

I subscribe to a few Yahoo Groups that mail user postings
to other users. Entourage 2008 version 12.2.0 works great
but most of the postings were winding up in my junk mail
folder rather than the inbox. I did not want to add all of the
users to my Address Book so I would read and delete them
from the junk mail folder.

Just figured out this morning there is a neat feature in
Entourage 2008 that solves the problem. Under the Tools
menu click on Junk Mail Protection then open Safe Domains
and add

yahoogroups.com

This works great and all posting now com to my inbox and
I do not have to add each poster to the Address Book.

If you subscribe to some of the Yahoo discussion groups, try
it and see how it works.

The more I use Entourage 2008, the more I like it!

You should be able to create a Mailing List Manager rule to cover the group.
This way you can select a folder as destination.

Hope this helps!

You can add a MLM entry for your list without also creating a Rule that
moves the messages. It will still help Entourage recognize that this is
a list and mail should not be marked as junk.

Do you keep all your tools, nails, nuts and bolts all in one big box?

I have never used the MLM. What do I need to do to set it up to move
anything incoming mail from anyone @yahoogroups.com to my inbox?

I clicked on New and was lost as to the next step

You don't need to do anything to move the messages, since they go to
your Inbox by default. It may be enough to just create the entry and
save it.

Select one of the messages from a list.
Open the Mailing List Manager
It will automatically fill in the correct list info.
Select the folder you want mail to be moved.
Save

There are a few other setting to customize, but you can ignore those.
