Tips Needed for New Install of Office over Works

G

Geoffrey John

My children are old enought to need the Office Suite products on their pc to
complete homework assignments. The pc currently runs Windows XP with Windows
Works and I want to install the Windows Office Suite onto the same hard
drive. Can I simply unisnstall the Works products and install the Office
Suite? Are there more sophisticated procedures that I should be aware of?

Microsoft Works and Microsoft Office can happily coexist on the same
computer. You don't have to uninstall Works. In fact, you probably
don't want to uninstall Works, because not all Works files can be opened
with Office. Works files that Office can open, may lose formatting or
other attributes in the conversion process.
