To open excel file

What does happen when you double click on excel file, and what version
of Excel are you using?

Dumb question but...Do you have Excel? What happens when you try to
dobule-click on the file? Can you open the file by opening Excel first then
browsing to the file?

yes I can open the file by opening Excel first and when double click on the
file nothing happens ( no warnings)

What is the file name, including the extension. Generate a test file
yourself, save it as an excel file and try to open it. Tell us what
happened on the test file.

Generated a file and saved it as Microsoft Office Excel Workbook and again
nothing happened.
