TOC format is not saved

When I map styles to TOC levels, the TOC will change
appropriately, but the next time I open the Index and
Tables dialog, all of the options have changed back. My
changes are not saved. For example in the TOC options, a
custom heading style I mapped to level 3 is no longer
mapped. I'm using Word 2003.

Turns out I was trying to save the TOC settings in a .dot,
which apparently doesn't accept them. I'm trying to
generate printed docs out of RoboHelp & it would be nice
not to have to fix the TOC every time, but I can't get the
changes to stick in the .dot. Once I change them in the
doc, they do stay changed...till I need to generate the
doc again. :-(

It should be possible to save these settings in a template provided you save
them in the form of a TOC field (which would contain the required switches).
