TOC missing one entry

I am using standard heading styles in Word XP. Somehow the TOC is missing
one entry (the next to last). I have tried deleting the heading text (and
adjacent lines) and re-typing it, and then making it a heading again, but it
does not work.

As far as I know, I have not introduced section breaks or anything fancy.

Any suggestions?

This black box named Word drives me crazy!!

If you're sure you're actually using the heading style for your heading (and
updating the TOC after adding it), is it possible that the heading is in a
text box?

Suzanne,

Thanks for your response. It seems the heading was located after a hard
page break. Adding a return before the heading soved the problem (I thought
I had tried this already, but it worked this time).

Instead of using a manual page break, format the heading as "Page break
before."
